It has been about two months since we arrived in San Isidro, Belize, for the project period in our Fighting with The Poor program. On the first weeks we’ve spent most of our time adapting to the new lifestyle and understanding a bit from the Project Leader what were our goals on the project. For this part, we had two meeting with local leaders, as the head of the women’s group and the “mayor”, visited local families to get their point of view of the situation they lived in and made a quick trip to see what the other DI’s had done in the village of Aguacate where they were last year.
Environment Online (ENO) is a global virtual school and network for sustainable development. ENO made a strong commitment in Rio+20 Summit to plant 100 million trees by 2017. Right now more than 114 countries have signed up and St. Vincent is already among the top 6 countries to register schools to participate. We want to mobilize our small island state to plant many trees as deforestation is one of our biggest environmental problems. This is where YOU come in! Join us!
